Folding mirrors

Looking to retrofit this, are they worth it!?

For the folk who have them, it will cost me around £600 to buy and fit

I absolutely love mine. I think they're very practical and when you hold the fob down to lock the car and they fold in, looks quite cool. Etto I know but I wouldn't buy a car without them.

It's only practical if you live in a house with a really tight garage or if you always park on the side street. Otherwise it's not that practical imo. No hate just saying.

It depends on your parking situation. I use mine many times a day..for sure lessens the chance of someone scratching or flat out breaking your mirror.

I use mine every day for work car park as it's a nightmare of a place. I'm not sure I'd pay 600 to get them retro fitted though.

Why £600? This pair with switch are £400 or best offer:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152150496445

Then you can sell your old ones for about £250-£300, so it'll only cost £100-£150 net! Well worth it for that price imo!

I would spec/source a car with them but wouldn't bother retrofitting.

Side note: the ones on M3 don't fold in much at all.

Ive been searching auto fold and one mirror was £400!

Yes wiring is different as it needs to connect possibly to the ecu! So a guy down south does it for £199 and has been used on the forum,

I swapped and lost money on my 320D for the 330D, only thing missing that I wanted was folding mirrors, agree I shoulda sourced a car but for the spec the price was decent!

Yes the m3 ones dont really seem to go upwards? More in the way

That's not bad then if he does all the rewiring too. So you should still do it for under £350 total, I say go for it, I love my folding mirrors, get him to code them to auto fold when you lock the car too, that's one of my favourite things I've coded!

Do you think folk would buy the non folding ones?

Might be best to keep and put them back on if I ever sell and get more money for the folding ones
