F30 330d M Sport Brakes - HELP!!!! (S2NHA)
Hi All
Can anyone give me an indication as to what prices they are paying for disc and pads for the S2nha option. I know the discs are 370mm on the front but the prices I'm being quoted from the stealership seems nuts. Non-Drilled M Sport Disc & pads for the front are coming to £928 and the rear pads are coming out at £210. These prices include fitting & VAT but still, practically £1,200?! They mentioned that the M Performance drilled discs are slightly cheaper (For some reason unkown to man?!) but then I have to replace my rear discs also which brings the cost back up to £1,200. Anyone seen any aftermarket disc and pads for this set-up? At the moment, I've only seen Tarox and I don't fancy paying £950 just for the discs!!! Thanks in advance! |

Get the front M Peformance discs (you don't have to change the rears as well, loads of cars come from factory withd drilled/grooved fronts and standard rears!) from Phil at Cotswold BMW:
2 x 34106797603 - £375 including vat and delivery Get EBC Yellowstuff pads, front £153 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2318537124...84.m1436.l2649 Rear£118 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3017845292...84.m1436.l2649 Total £646 and fit them yourself, they're a piece of piss! |

Yes many on here have them on the M Sport brakes! They all report improved braking performance all round from them, and non of the squealing many suffer from with the oem pads.

Do you need to buy new pad sensors too, or do them come with the EBC pads?

Depends if your current ones have triggered or not. No pad sets come with sensors, they are around £30 for oem ones, or about £10 for some Febi Bilstein ones.

Ta. I was quoted £1,600 for front and rear new discs and pads. Bonkers. Independent was at £1,200. Like the idea of DIY!

I do far more of the latter than the former, and my front pads lasted about 25k, front discs would need changing after second set of pads at 50k, rear pads lasted about 35k, so discs would be at 70k. |

I've done 36k
It's just had its major service, the stealer didn't mention brakes at all. The car says 9k left in the fronts which I assume is pads only but you never know. My typical drive is 4/5 miles either town or lanes then 30 miles motorway x2 for the office, or motorways town if out of the office. As it's an auto I can see town driving killing the brakes as your constantly on then (rather than wearing the clutch out) I'm tempted to buy the pads now, discs in a month or two then come fitting time it's not as big a lump in one month.

Spoke with Phil at Cotswold (great guy). Just for info I've done 34k miles and front discs are 0.4mm below spec, pads need changing on front and both. Not sure how far above spec the rear discs are. Got talking to Phil and he's quoted me the following:
Drilled discs (370mm front and 340mm?? rear) + Msport pads (better initial bite than the M performance pads but more dust) + fitting =£1100 M performance power kit with the bigger intercooler + fitting = 980 Needless to say, I am tempted as Sytner tried to charge me £1600 for the power kit alone! Will keep you all posted! |

When it suddenly jumps to a lower remaining distance it will mean your pad sensors have triggered.

I'm at 73k now - original discs and pads but motorway miles. Been saying 2,200 miles to go for last 5k miles. Still seem to have a bit of life in them yet! I'll be going for the m performance discs and possibly m sport (rather than m performance) pads when I do get round to it. Clearly I need to be phoning Phil at Cotswold rather than the local stealer or even the indi I went to.
Is Phil at Cheltenham?
