340 deals

I got the impression on here that there were some really good deals about on the 340. As I had requested a settlement figure recently the supplying dealer made contact, so I thought I would get a couple of quotes just to consider some options, I have to say I was a bit suprised by how high the monthly payment was, it's over 10% more than I pay for my GC, is this a rubbish deal? Or is it about right. They only quoted a monthly payment and it doesnt include a px.

Don't think the deals are quite as good as they were, but that quote looks steep. By comparison a base 340i touring on contract hire is available for around £375. I would expect the options you've suggested would add around £100 to that figure.

Wonder how the discounts will be this quarter, post-referendum. Maybe BMW will be tightening their belts a bit.

Stick your spec on coast2coast and see what discount it throws up

Then plug your numbers into PCPcal.co.uk - you've got the GFV from your quote already - and see what the monthly payment comes in at. It won't be 100% accurate, but won't be too far off.

You'll then be able to gauge whether your dealer is on the money or not

The dealer needs to provide you with more detail than just the monthly payment in order that you can make a proper informed choice. If they show reluctance to do this then I'd find one that will.

I would suspect that quote contains minimal discount. As mentioned earlier by DB118D, if you run a comparison yourself along those lines then you'll be much better armed for any negotiation. GL

Howdy Ice Man,

I've been negotiating with a few dealers over the last week on a 340i Saloon deal.

TRL @ Berry Heathrow BMW had posted this deal back in May:

Any Metallic and Leather colour (standard, no cost)
Plus Factory Options of; Sports Auto. Pro Media package, M Sport Plus package, Interior Comfort package and Adaptive M Suspension.

List Price £44,360 OTR
dealer contribution £9370
Balance £34,990 OTR

Customer deposit of £4990 then 47 x £399 plus GFV £15619
based on 4.9% APR and 8000 miles pa.

My local BMW dealer is advertising this deal on a base 340i:

List Price £38,815
BMW contribution £4250
Dealer contribution £4077
Customer Deposit £2000

Amount of credit £28500, 47 x 399 plus GFV £13900 based on 4.9%.

I managed to get my 340i with options upto £46000 Coast2Coast recommended a discount of £9360 with that spec. So if I can get one of the dealers to give me £9k discount, I'll put down £2k leaving £35k credit.

So:
Amount of credit £35000 = 47 x £520 with estimated GFV £15000 based on 4.9% is what I'd like to achieve approximately (Using PCPPAL.co.uk)

I'm hoping to get through to dealers at the end of next week to try and get this sorted, I'll keep you posted as to how I get on.

Since being on this forum, I cant wait to discuss my new car deal in a few years time to see how many I can save enabling me to add the package options I want.

Thanks for the replys, I bought my GC off TRL and the 340 quote was through Berry's, it looks like it's not the sharpest of deals and if I pushed or shopped around I could probably improve on it but not to the point it would be worth considering. I was only looking at options at this stage and the neg equity had made it a non starter but seeing as they made contact and it appeared 340 deals were quite tasty I would see where the numbers were at, it appears I got a very good deal on my GC and seeing as I like it a lot ( and fairly upside down in it atm ) it's not worth wasting anymore time over
