2016/17 Euro Delivery Discussion Thread
I'm opening this thread to gather everyone who is planning European Delivery with their M2. BMW has confirmed my delivery on 9/13, so I'm beyond excited!
Anyone else able to make the trip a reality so far? Side notes: My dealer kept their promise of Euro Delivery at Euro Delivery discount price, so to everyone out there, it's possible! My CA has been stellar but he's also done this many times. I placed a deposit Feb/2016 and was #2 or 3 on the list. My build: 2017 LBB 6MT Apple CarPlay (if available) No Packages or Performance Parts (stripper) Last edited by swilliams; 06-29-2016 at 09:41 PM.. |

I am experiencing a little uncertainty. My dealer has an allocation for my M2 and build week for the 2nd week of July. However, I am still status 047 (order submitted/not yet accepted?) so I don't have an order # or a confirmed delivery day. My CA, who is great by the way, says he's waiting for it to be advanced on the system and its out of his hands. He has shown me the screens and has submitted my order so I totally believe him. He says don't worry about it. Anyone else getting the same vibe?

Awesome I got a sept build slot. I am in the process of selecting my dates now for September/Oct ED. I want to arrive during OktoberFest. I will update when confirmed.
But my build will be similar to OP. LBB, 6MT. No exec. |

I'm wanting to do a ED next August/September. That's a long way away I know, and will be a 2018 MY. I've talked to my local dealer but it's so far out they aren't taking deposits or anything. When do you think I should push for some sort of deposit/slot?

I had ordered a MY16 with build and deposit back in March with no production number. At this point in the game, still no prod number, do I still get a MY16 with its 4yr maintenance program, or get the new MY17 with the 3yr program?

I have a ED pick up scheduled on August 10th
I placed a deposit on October 2015 but will not get the Euro Delivery discount (I will pay the regular US MSRP). My build: 2017 Mineral Grey 6MT Apple CarPlay (if available) Executive Package |

Once you get an allocation you should receive a production number. Did you get an allocation?

Have you ever been to Oktoberfest? Munich hotels/hostels/airBnB all fill up pretty fast and prices skyrocket, so I'd book early. I was there in 2014 around the opening days and the beer halls were filled to capacity so we struggled to get a seat and a stein of beer. When we did find a seat, it was outside in the rain. If I were to do it again I would not go during the opening week.

I had my VIN about 1.5 weeks before production and if you're still 047 right now then there is no way you're getting a car built in July. Sorry. |

I actually changed my ED date to first week of October. This will be after Oktober fest and less hectic in Munich.

So living in Southern AZ this may put me in a bit of a unique position but does anyone care about the winter tires? I had thought about ED back in Jan/Feb but figured at best I would get a car in the fall. Looking back I would have been lucky to get delivery in the fall. Anyway one of the deal breakers for me was that they put snow tires on starting in October? Living in Southern AZ I have no use for snow tires ever! I factored this into the cost equation (pulling off perfectly good snow tires and buying new Pilots once I got home). I figured this was good for at least $1500 or so. Or I could wait till the spring (no way). I guess if I lived in the North East it might be a non issue.
