So long 'pirate ship' creaking! (Hopefully)
Sytner Nottingham have had Jarvis for today and fitted the tape to the door frames which so far seems to have fixed the creaking which was driving me demented. Fingers crossed it keeps working. Very good service from them I have to say and he was gleaming when I collected him.

Just make sure you don't wash or polish it with the wrong products else it'll come back.

I use BMWs products. I don't doubt there are better products out there, but I'd rather keep on the safe side.
What stuff have you been putting on your car out of interest?

for the door seals, put gummipfledge (spelling may not be 100%) on the rubber and make sure you don"t apply polish to the metal on the doors or silicon. works for years. did this on my previous E39 and current F10

I read on here from a BMW tech (sorry can't remember username) that BMW recommend and use Carbaflo on the seals for this problem.

I use this.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sonax-03400...ax+rubber+care Car is beginning to creak a little again now, last applied in March... Apply to all rubbers (door and window) and the plastics they contact. Carefully clean the contact metal and shadow line trim. Apply a wax and buff off. Wash as normal. I use DoDo Apple iFoam and Supernatural Shampoo. The creak issue is annoying, but manageable with this approach.

My car creaked terribly in the beginning, probably as it had been Supaguarded by the supplying dealer. All of the seals were replaced and it has been fine now for over 2 years.
I appreciate that this might not appeal to those who want their car to look perfect, but I don't use any products on the car at all, apart from the foam at the local jetwash. |
