Production Week to Delivery Timeframe?

For you guys that have received your M2 on normal US delivery (Non ED non PCD), about how long was it between your scheduled production week and actually getting the car at your dealer?

If a car is built in say week 33, when would it likely get to a US dealer? I did ED on my F80 last year so I don't know what a US delivery timeline looks like, thanks for your help.

Also does anyone know when a status 111 changes to status 112? Is it a week or two before the scheduled build week?

I have some of the same questions. What I have read is from the time the car is built expect about 8 weeks to the east coast and 10 to the west.

You are way off. I'd say between 4 and 5 weeks from build completion to delivery at the dealer, for the easy coast

My car started production may 23, finished June 9th, and scheduled to arrive at my dealership July 14th. 6-8 weeks, like zenmaster said!

It's typically 6-8 weeks for east coast from build start if shipping from Germany. This has been is a very consistent process unless a govt holdup or maybe bad weather occurs. Doesn't really matter what model. After a few weeks at sea, the boat stops at a northern port first then more stops at ports as it travels south down coastline over a couple of weeks.

Thanks guys. The Production week is the week production starts or finishes? I'm guessing if you have a week 33 then you can expect the car around week 39-41 for delivery.

I've seen it as early as 4 weeks for east coast. Add another week or so if PCD.

The production week given by BMW is for End-of-Production; ie. the week in which your car will be complete and ready for shipping.

From that point it is typically 4-6 weeks for US east coast, 8-12 for west coast. It honestly all depends on which port, how many stops the ship makes, whether it's being sent by rail or truck, etc., etc.

One thing to keep in mind for the US folks with MY17 cars: the EPA hold bullsh*t they pulled with the MY16 is back, so there may be some delays with deliveries due to that.

Just got off the phone with BMW and my car will be done week 36, I asked about shipping time etc and she wouldn't really give me a timeframe because she says things can change, she said once its on the boat then they can give a pretty accurate estimate but this far out she couldn't. Happy I called.

I haven't been able to. The 800 number says I am scheduled with no confirmed date though. Dealer says week 34.

Also if you guys are saving the BMW order status in your phone like the official status thread says I had to add a few extra pauses, the greeting prompt changed.

My line is :
Code:
1 (800) 831-1117,,,,,,2,,,<prod number>,,1

That would seem impossible from build start. Takes 1) a week and 1/2 to build, then 2) possible wait in parking lot, then 3) load train and train trip to port, then 4) possible wait for boat (likely 3-4 days), then 5) load, then 6) sea, then 7) dock and unload at port, 8) then possible wait at port and VPC (typically 3 days), then 9) truck to dealer (1-3 days), 10) detail at dealer (1 day). I really don't see steps 2-10 taking only 3 weeks!

Anyone know what status your car has to be in to be added to MYBMW online? Does it have to go to production?
