question about stray thread on Sensatec seats

I have a 228i with sensatec seats. Ever since getting my car I see a stray thread hanging on the passenger seat. It does not seem to be getting worse. It's pretty tight when I pull on it. Is it safe to cut the thread so that the thread doesn't show? Any ideas of any potential problems in the future? Please see attached picture. it is on the lower seam of the passenger seat-back

I'd leave it. It may be the spot where the thread broke or was refilled during production and the stitching restarted at that point.

Being serious, if it was mine, I'd hit it with a lighter quickly. I do it on clothes too. It basically cauterizes it.
