What gets reset when you disconnect the battery?
I know when I disconnect the negative terminal on my battery to do some work on the car, the clock needs to be reset, is there anything else that gets reset computer wise?
I am hoping to reset my rain sensor because I got a new windshield and now I have 1 speed intermittent wipers instead of rain sensing wipers! They used oem BMW labeled glass with the rain sensor and install looks very good. |

The only thing you will noticeably lose is time and date but other hidden things like emissions readiness monitors, some adaptations, and initializations are lost. Most systems will go through a self test to re-initialize themselves.
Check the scroll wheel on the right stalk. That controls the sensitivity of the wipers. I don't think anyone reuses RLS components. They are always new with the windshield. |
