So I picked up my 340i xDrive today - first impressions:
I picked up my car at PCD today, really enjoyed the experience. Was great to drive a 340 out on the track, even if it wasn't exactly like mine (PCD car was Auto instead of 6MT, and RWD instead of AWD). Really showed the potential of the platform in a way that I wouldn't have had the guts or road to try with my own car.
A couple of corrections at the delivery were needed - a loose part (foam insulator thing poking out of the fender well, and a squeaky passenger door. But the technician fixed both immediately, and I was on my way. Had a long drive home to Richmond to get used to the car. Still in Break-in period jail, staying under 4500rpm and not full throttle, etc. IDrive is taking some getting used to, and I'm not a fan of the position of reverse on the 6MT pattern - to the left of 1st gear. But it drove well, and I don't really get all the complaints about steering. At least with Trk Hndling and Msport, it seems just fine to me. Looking forward to putting some more time in it this week, and getting through the break in period! So far so good!

Congratulations and as nice as it will be to one day track mine I think I'd almost prefer to track someone else's. I bet it was a blast!

Thanks - yes PCD is a fun time. Not really a full track day, but still fun nonetheless!
