Can someone help me decide on my M2

I had a M235I and loved it, I traded that in for a M2 and also love the car.
My dealer called and wants to buy the car back.
His offer is a brand new M235I and check for $5,250 for my M2 which has only 1,450 miles.
I counter offered $7,500. He called me again and said he could do $7,500 if I pick one of the lot, but he does not have the color I want. I told him that I would build one, but that was a no go they would only give me $5,250 if I did that. I paid $57,325 for the M2 and the new M235I is almost $53,000
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

which dealer and what sort of m2 do you have just out of curiosity?

(I'm local).. Do you love the
M2 as much as the m235? Gut check to me says m2, but it's whichever you feel the most connection with really.

why do they want to buy it back? that would help my decision. Also I might be worth it to see if you could get the 53k towards a credit.

Thanks for the quick response. It's LBB with DCT and executive package. I am also leaning to keep the M2, what if he comes back with $7,500??

Based on the price he paid for the M2 am guessing DCT + Executive Package + One of the Metallic colors. But obviously I could be 100% wrong.

The dealer must have a customer who wants it really bad, that is why the offer.

I don't see the payoff here. You're getting into a new car just because. I'd keep the M2.

And why is the 235 53k? Sounds close to msrp. It sounds like a good deal if you're getting the new car at invoice plus $7500 and you have zero regret getting back into a car with no hips.

If I had to make a business transaction decision I would asked for 10K market adjustment price.

On the other hand since am an emotional person, i would not part with my M2.

As everyone has stated, under the current deal, keep the M2.

However, if I had been in your shoes, I would've hit up the SA with a ridiculous number like a straight up trade into an M4.

Or invoice + $15K.

Just to see what the response is to gauge market value.

tell him you'll give him the car but want a new or low mileage used m3 or m4.

m235 + 7500 is a bad deal. you could probably get 7500 off of a m235 right now. the value between the 2 new is more than 7500. then the minute you drive it off the lot is gets way worse.

would you let the dealer do it, if you had a 1M and they offered a 135is and $7,500 cash?
