Can anyone recommend me a good (reasonably priced) cable to code my 08 E93?

I've seen a ton, but not sure because many people say its a hit or miss if you buy a cheap one.

Would this unit theoretically work for coding?

It works just fine as an OBDII scanner for my BMW, but it's a little obscure to me if it has the appropriate protocols for coding via NCS Expert. I'm having trouble getting connection with NCS Expert and am trying to figure out if I should just buy the recommended cable or if this SHOULD work and I need to put in some effort on the software/COM setup
