DCT Clutch Malfunction

When manually downshifting at highway speeds (>60 mph) the F10 rev matches and engine braking begins and then inexplicably the clutches disengage. The net result is that the F10 coasts and the revs stay elevated. Application of throttle is required to re-engage clutches. This phenomena will also occur occasionally while cruising at higher rpms. BMW of Manhattan has finally conceded that the F10 hasn't been fixed and will enter the problem in PUMA.

Has any one else experienced this particular DCT clutch problem? TIA

Either a software issue or your clutches are going bad. Easy way to tell if your clutches are going bad is to have your technician get a sample of the DCT hydraulic fluid and then send it off to Blackstone. Within a few weeks, you will have a detailed analysis of how your DCT is holding up.

I doubt you are having the same issue I had, but I had similar symptoms which was caused by not having the right size tires, Rolling diameter was off and it messed with the cars electronics, only happened at 60+ mph. Make sure you are running the correct size tires.

Rear was 305/30/20 which was the correct size. Front was a 265/30/20 which was wrong, it should've been a 265/35/20. Car went batshit crazy, once I swapped the correct tires back on the car was back to normal.

hi guys! I have seen some M5 f10 (m6 also) that when your in full sport mode, MDM and all that. The Revs can Bounce, for exampel, if you have your revs at 3k, and you push the peddle full and let of the gas at the same seconds it sometimes Bounce a Little bit.

have you Heard or seen this fenomen? I have not seen this on my car yet, but my car is now sleeping for the Winter. I noticed some on the Youtube.

i hope you can understand this strange fenomen, if you don't I will try to explain better.
