Microfiber detergent
Anyone have any favorites? I have always used regular detergent but it doesn't remove the heavily caked on wax especially if it's been on the towel for a while

We love Micro Restore detergent. I have been using it for years, and it keeps all of our towels nice and soft.
If you tend to leave towels dirty for extended periods of time, you may have to soak them in something like oxi-clean before hand to really help get the tough stuff out. Zach McGovern Detailed Image Ask-A-Pro Blog Author www.DetailPeoria.com |

Micro Restore or use some "free & clear" type of detergent with no softener or smell mixes.
I did a video a while back describing my thought process and why I do it. If it's worth 5 minutes to you:

I've washed my towels (I use Tide Free and Gentle) in hot water (when needed) many times and it doesn't affect them at all. The hot water cycle doesn't get hot enough to damage the towels. I also find it cleans the towels out better especially if they are filled with wax, sealant, etc. Also, always make sure you do a second rinse. I dry my towels on the low setting for around 4 minutes (from "The Junkman"), remove and then hang dry.
