Nissan GTR might not be as good as you think it is.

oh

IMO people (me included) seem to think what's wrong with the GTR? Like how can it possible be as quick as a Z06? Or how can it be near or better than a 911 turbo but not cost so much?

I believe the GTR could sell for $120K (in the US) and it'd get more respect but for some reason when I see it's $70K, I think so what's wrong with it? I mean there has to be a reason it's not selling for 6-figures.

I know mark-ups maybe that's the true market price.

I have a lead to GTR at +$5K so maybe just do that. I just think it's got to have something wrong with it to sell at such a low price, I haven't figured it out yet.

What' wrong with the GTR? the Nissan Badge. lol!

I have been dealing with 3 different Nissan dealers and they are pretty damn difficult to deal with.

why's nissan badge bad on the GTR? that's ridiculous IMO.

appreciate the car for what it is. Nissan has a long history of great engineering, and great Skyline line. if we're talking "badge" here, then this entire thread is worthless IMHO

The GTR beat the GT3 a full second on the course even with 700lbs more to carry. I think that's pretty good. And it matches the Z06 almost at every level with about 600lbs more, again that's pretty good. So i guess it's safe to say that it is as good as most people think it is.

You're probably right. But Infiniti GTR does'nt sound right to me. Also, with the Infiniti brand you'll also get the Infiniti service. I'd hate to think i paid $70k or more for a car and when i get it service, i'm getting the same service as the next guy that bought a Nissan Sentra. J/k, it's not really the same supposedly. That's why Nissan trained mechanics especifically to work on the GTR for each dealer that would carry it.

i was "trying" to sound sarcastic about the nissan/infiniti. it's stupid if they name it infiniti after 30 years of good performance under a Nissan badge.

Infiniti service is pretty decent IMO. at least i got a better car than mine every time i went it, not like BMW where i had to wait, beg long, or forget about a loaner.

I knew you where being sarcastic. And you're right, after 30yrs of legendary tradition it would be stupid to changed it.

perhaps in a flat world with no corners the sl can keep up with a Z06. But on anything twisty, uh, no. The GT-R should be comparable to the Z06 on the track, but much easier to drive fast. In a straight line the z06 should have the GT-R

Exactly

The skyline has always been a Nissan.

They are not retarded like Toyota/Lexus and trying to start racing Lexus. Yota is just stupid, a Lexus is luxury, not a stripped out race car.

Putting a Infiniti badge on it, would just be poseur.

Nissan has a long racing heritage, Infiniti doesn't

Nothing wrong with Lexus in racing and making sportscars. Mercedes and BMW does it, so why not Lexus.

For each dealership that sells/maintains GTRs, they have special technician training for that car.
