Very likely giving up my spot in line.....

Over the next few days I will be deciding between a 2015 Cayman S with 7k miles and keeping my spot in line and continuing to wait for the M2. I am next in line at 1 dealership and who knows where at another. The dealership I am next in line at is smaller, but they have received and already delivered their HEA allocation.

I will have to confirm with the dealership that they will allow me to fill my spot with someone else, but if they do, I will open it up to whoever PM's me first with the answer to this simple question....

"Who's that coming down the track?"

Go...

Paperwork is being FedEx'd to me for the Cayman S. Once I sign and drop back in the mail tomorrow, I will call my dealer and ask about transferring my spot. I had multiple replies, and I've already told the first one that the spot is theirs if everything works out.

The car should be delivered to me on Monday.

Thanks for playing!

I have a 981BS, you wont regret it!. Also, I'm finalizing my FVD tune for the 3.4, so hopefully I will have the same power delivery as a base 911

I am #2 at my local dealer and my SA thinks I will be able to order when allocations are released in June.

I am having strong thoughts about the 997.2. I am shopping for a weekend fair-weather car. I thin the Porsche will provide more of a sense of occasion and I think a lot of the excitement for the M2 will fade somewhat quickly. I think for $55k, its smart money to be in one of the last great Porsche models before they are extinct. N/A motor and much better depreciation.

I may have to pass on the M2 as time is ticking on picking up a clean 997. They wont be cheap like this forever.

What do you guys think?

I bought an m2 but I was in the same boat you are. I plan on getting a 997.2 in about four years. They will drop a little more in that time and they don't have ims issues. For a nice one right now you'll be in the 60+ range. But its a great choice I really like that car. I'm talking c2s.

One's a Porsche 911, one's a parts bin 2 series.

Spot has been trasferred. Good luck everybody. I know the wait will be worth it when your car arrives.

I'll still be around watching.

Congrats on the 981 CS.

I am partial to it, since I have the same car.

Haven't been able to drive the M2 yet, but I can't imagine that you'd be disappointed with the P car. And you can always pick up an M2 down the road at some point if you want.

First P car and it's a completely different feel. No regrets so far. Perfect scenario would be to eventually get the M2 as a Daily and turn the CS into a track car. We'll see what they come out with in the next year or so.

Finally got a chance to clean the M2 substitute up. Still loving it. Also still anxious to see an M2 around town. I took a hot lap in one around Road Atlanta a few months back , but it had the obnoxious stripes on it. Cant wait to see one in MG or BSM.
