Spring / summer 17
Hello, new here. Been browsing around the forums honestly since the M235 came out, and now the M2 really perked my interest. Seeing how production is some what limited, would it possibly be a good idea to contact dealers to order a car for May/June next year?

If you want a car with your specs and don't want to have to look around the country next spring/summer, I would contact dealers now and get on a list. I probably won't be getting my car until next spring (although in my case euro delivery and performance delivery add some time). Can't hurt to talk to dealers and see how long the lists have grown.

You need to pretty much put in an order and deposit now to have any hope of May/June 2017 delivery... and even then you likely need to search around for a dealer with a relatively short waiting list... at least based on the situation here in Canada.

I'd say you put in a deposit ASAP. Depending on how busy your local dealers are there may already be a substantial list. Some dealers are into the 30's and with the limited amount of allocations being handed out you may very well be looking into next summer.

Yeah I'm in Cleveland Ohio. Anyone local around here have any luck snagging a car or have any info?
I'll start calling around though.. There's plenty of dealerships within about 20 miles of me. |

I am in Cleveland too and I put a deposit down in March with Bmw Cleveland (Solon) and am supposedly 4th on the list. I was told I should see my car in December or January.

Look at 2 things from each candidate dealer: number of allocations for the year, and their current order-bank depth. For my dealer, I ordered in Jan and being 3rd will probably see my car next Jan.

It might just be around Cleveland, but demand doesn't seem as insane as I thought. BMW Cleveland has 5-6 people on a wait list. At Dave Walter I got either "you can have an allocation next month" or "we are all sold out for 9-12 months" lol, don't know who to believe, the first statement came from the sales manager, second from the internet sales manager. At classic he said he has 3 allocations but they are all for over MSRP. Also test drove the 235 xdrive, that was a blast, pretty much felt like the perfect daily driver. But, it was auto and awd so its not for me, plus I want something with a little more oomph. Word on here, is that allocations are supposed to come out next month for late summer/early fall. I'll probably see whats going on then, and go from there.

As for the other stuff, I'm more inclined to believe the sold out for 9-12 months, especially with lists of 5+ people. |
