After market turbos

What would be the install cost for aftermarket turbo chargers?

E92 335i

Maybe 5 hours labor?

Including taking off the old ones? Id say more than 5 hours. It's nearly an engine out job.
When mine were replaced and started rattling again, the owner of the garage that did the original job nearly started crying at the prospect, haha!

I'm told it's an absolute Cnut of a job. Fair play to BMW for designing them so well, but Jesus, they didn't think about ever replacing them!!

I've spoken to a few companies about this and all have come back with 11-12 hours. BMW did mine last year under warranty but again took them about that sort of book time.

As people say budget for 12 hours but it all depends on the garage. I had friend do mine once and he had the job done within 8 hours. I Dropped the car off before work and collected after.

I meant the integration directly in to the manifolds. The turbos themselves are great. The wastegates, not so much!

12 hours, wow!

Mine are still going strong at 54k miles. I'm just interested in a stage 2+ upgrade. Running mine at about the max they will take right now. 21 to 22 psi under power, spiking to 25 psi on the shifts.

Would need a high pressure fueling solution and upgraded clutch to go the full
~750 whp.

POWER!!!!!!!!

Swapping the turbos is a PITA job! having done it a few times now, firstly in situ and then the 2nd & 3rd times with the engine removed its def much easier to remove the engine to swap the turbos esp if your combining it with other work, like replacing the clutch while the engine is out.

Nope

Dyno at 736whp already. Calcs show enough flow for 750whp

Bloody hell 750whp would be epic!

What is your gearbox rated at? Could it handle 675ft.lbs?

On paper you're looking at just over £700+VAT, the big things with these cars and we've done 3 including my car is the fact that I've seen a variation re times taken, sounds crazy but that's what I've seen, therefore even a 'realistic 12 hours' could increase re times hence the quoted 14.5 hours I stated above and therefore I'd always, always stress this before taking any car on thst times may increase, I've seen enough of these cars now to know they chew time and throw up issues to know that there will at times be a sting in the tail waiting to catch you when you least expect it and thst sting is time that will = money money.

Theory says though complicated by a lack of space the turbos should be able to be extracted with the engine in situ, but it's just not that easy as said putting catless pipes on can take 4 hours with ease which in theory is a good third of that 12 hours stated hence the warning above, however once you've extracted the engine everything is just far more accessible it makes you think about going down this route not only for the turbos but to address other know or troublesome 335i issues such as the annoying rear inlet pipe thats near impossible to cleanly extract with the engine in place plus it helps you identify annoying issues such as oil leak issues again something 335i's suffer from plus you can clean residue oil away a hell of a lot easier.

If I had my time again I'd actually look really closely at engine extraction as you can address a lot more in the one visit but one things for sure its a real PITA whichever direction you run with.

Yes I think there in lies a problem. 600ftlbs seems about the max and would need the Dodson clutch upgrade. I'm going to look to see what the tuned M5 guys are doing with their DCT boxes. I know the stock clutch is the same but the actual transmission might be a bit different.

Manuals seem able to be upgraded to take the power and the Autos are capable of alot. DCT is a bit of a mystery. There must be a reason no future M5 and M6's will be manuals anymore though. Same with the 335D.
