Timing chain issues, best course of action?

Hi, I've got a 2009 320d (177). I've heard a lot about the timing chain issues on this engine. What's the best course of action to stop it happening? And what are the costs associated? Thanks.

I was advised to do an intern service in between your normal service. I Have been doing so and the engine is still going strong at almost 180k.

You can also check if yours is eligible for the quality enhancement. Some are some aren't for the N47
