325D Clutch / DMF replacement

Hi guys

The DMF on my 325D is very loud and I want to get it sorted sooner rather than later however I'm also trying to save money where poss.

Cheapest I can find for an LUK Clutch & flywheel inc fitting is £800. I'm sure I've seen people on here have paid nearer the £600 mark.

Anyone able to help? I don't mind travelling!

Thanks
Jordan

View count includes everything including your own views of this thread. I wouldn't panic over it.

Garage List
Have a look on euro car parts buddy,
parts will most likely be around £400.

Cheers guys, Euro Car Parts were very pricey. Cheapest I've found is £480 for parts via eBay (LUK)

I don't use Facebook Deano, thanks though!

My brother paid a local garage £300 to fit a clutch/flywheel on his 320d. The same work is involved in 320d and 330d, so i'd expect similar charge.

He purchased the flywheel and clutch kit online, which costs around £500-550 for a 330d:

So 800 seems fair enough to me!

I'm probably going to order it from a clutch place on eBay. The same kit you've linked (LUK) is £480 and I have had a quote from a BMW specialist (AReeve in Kings Lynn) of £313 to fit, alternatively our long term family MOT tester/mechanic has quoted approx £200 however he's done done a 3 series clutch before so I'm slightly reluctant although with 25+ years in the trade I'd like to think he could do a clutch & DMF without issue!

Labour wise this is about right your looking say at £59+VAT per hour (to remove replace the parts around 4.5-5 hours so £265.50 - £295+VAT is the figure I'd of gone with) the flywheels on these do differ re price a fair bit, but Euro will do an LUK set up but you'll need to check via registration number to get an idea as price wise as said these can vary, clutch wise its a little more stable re pricing and again via the reg you'll be able to check don't forget to order a ball pin and spring from BMW too these are around £6.00+VAT though small can fail and can cause issues and most people when they replace clutches and flywheels when fail to do this, but for around £6.00 worth while IMO and for us is standard practice .

Can you elaborate on the ball pin and spring parts please? What role do they play and what could happen if they fail or start to fail?

Thanks
