Is there a BMW approved bodyshop procedure for alloy wheel refurbish?

Is there a BMW approved way to refurbish alloy wheels, which all approved bodyshops need to follow?

This^^

Bmw do a terrible job when returning alloys I'd just take it to a well known wheel specialist in your area

BMW do 'smart' repairs only, best seeking out a specialist. I'm currently awaiting mine to be finished. MV3s in Ferric Grey

I was sent the workshop process and basically the approved way is to remove tyre, clean, fill if needed, sand any filled areas before only spraying the face and never into the lug holes. Never sandblast or paint rear of wheel. It's far from what I would consider a refurbishment and costs £125 per wheel.

Had mine done in A80 ferric grey by a local specialist. They were "refurbed" by bmw but looked pretty bad on closer inspection.

anyone used Primo Wheels in Guildford or my alloys in Basingstoke ?

£312 for 18's - full refurb in platinum silver or £288 for std OEM silver. That's tyres on, tyres taken off, dip stripped, powder coated etc, tyres on and balanced.

I'd love to do them myself but they are M359's and I get the feeling they'd a total pain to prep and paint.

I have had good experiences with First Aid Wheels (FAW). The first time I used BMW for a repair they billed me £90 for minor kerb damage and it was still visible after the fill and paint. I had it redone at no cost to me as I was not happy with it. Since then I use services like FAW.

My M359 reps are in with Primo Alloys right now. Will review and report back when I get them. They said it'd only be a couple of days AND they are fitting new tyres that I supplied as part of the price - result !

...I hope, let's see how they come back ...

This is how they refurb minor scuffs

https://vimeo.com/128580555

Now i'm not entirely sure how much warranty they offer after a refurb, I read on BMW's website that it was somewhere between 3 months to 3 years depending on the severity of the damage
