Returning after a year away
Hi guys
I've had a year away but as of tomorrow I'm hopefully returning to the E90. Got to drive from Norfolk to Bristol to view but should be swapping my 2011 Astra SRI for this: 2007 325D M Sport, ideally would have liked a 330D but nonetheless it's a 6 pot in a nice spec and colour. It's a touch high on miles at 160k but is backed up by 2 owners and a full BMW history. Looking forward to getting back in an e90! Cheers Jordan |

Well I've got it home & have to say I love it. Sound is lovely, drives great! Think it's going to want a clutch/DMF in the not too distant future as there's a bit of noise part way down the pedal but it didn't put me off.
Great spec too. Full M Sport leather with folding rear seats, Bluetooth, shadow lines, is there an easy way of finding out if I have logic 7? The audio is much better than my old SE LCI. Last edited by JJ0063; 04-04-2016 at 04:37 PM.. |

Thanks I'm over the moon with it, economy if you drive sensibly is great too!
Ordered a new key fob case today as the badge is worn on mine. Will order some gloss black kidney grills later in the month too as well as some LED number plate lights. Not going to do too much to it as I like the way it looks & the spec is good too. Thanks |

Why would you come back to a BMW? You slated them when you got your super duper Astra on Vectra-c.com, stating how having a saloon is a pain in the backside and how poorly spec'd BMW's are.
And look, here you are, back in a BMW saloon |

Had a couple of hours spare this afternoon so thought I'd give the car a quick wash & Hoover. Literally just used Megs gold class shampoo & AG leather cleaner. Not 'detailed' just wanted to go over it and check for any damage really... Pics do the talking but I'm over the moon with it.
And the interior: It seems to have quite a few optional extras that I've discovered since getting it... Folding rear seats, read arm rest with ski flap & a built in ski bag(?!) which unfolds. Full M Sport Dakota leather Electronic adjusting lumbar support on both front seats Bluetooth with phone cradle in arm rest Rechargeable torch in glovebox Auto lights & wipers Manual box which is apparently rare on the 3.0 I'm so happy with it, bodywork has worn the miles so well! Went to Birmingham and back today & it flicked into 168k on the way home. Averaged 47MPG too! Clutch/DMF will deffo need doing this year but I'm still so happy with it. |

So today I cleaned it, de-tarred and cleaned the exhaust tips (need polishing now), debadged it and wrapped the grills:
I've done nearly 900 miles in it now and I absolutely love it, DMF rattle is annoying but it drives lovely & I wish I'd got a 6 cylinder years ago lol. I've ordered some LED number plate lights (complete fittings) and am bidding on a detachable tow bar too. |

So a bit of progress today, I've covered just shy of 2000 miles in it now.
Firstly I fitted some splitters I got online and changed the carbon wrapped grills for genuine BMW gloss black grills. Before: After: Secondly my log book arrived so I put my plate on: The front originally had a colour coded factory plate holder but I think I prefer the lesser look so I've velcro'd it straight to the bumper. And finally the one which has destroyed my bank balance.. Clutch kit and DMF.. Can't get it fitted for another month though as fitting is another few hundred. |

New LUK clutch and flywheel fitted today, feels like a new car! So light and smooth now.
They also gave it a health check & only advisories were damaged under tray and missing insulation on the engine cover. Happy with that for a 169k'er! |

So I had a sticky NSR caliper which I fixed myself by greasing the sliders up. Seems fine now.
To say thank you I did a pre holiday clean as I'm going to Lanzarote on Thursday morning so it needs to look nice whilst sat in an airport car park! I finally finished fitting my splitters... I had tiger sealed the tops on but was waiting for it to set before screwing the bottoms to the bumper.. 3 weeks later & it's now done Followed by a Hoover, leather clean, trim dress and a quick wash. It still amazes me every time I get in it that it's done over 170k, it's worn it so well. Excuse the seat being right forward, I'm short but not that short lol. |
