318D DTUK Stage 2
Hi,
For a number of reasons I don't want a full remap, so next best thing is a tuning box, quite tempted by the DTUK Stage 2 as it attaches on to the turbo as well as the fuel rail. and apparently pushes it up to 190bhp. Does anyone have any experience of this box on a 318D specifically? I've done a search and there seems to be quite a few on 320/325/330/335 but cant seem to find anyone who has a 318. Long story short, I originally wanted a 320d but found a 318 with all the spec I wanted and more so bought it, however now wish it had more power... |

I've got the 'Stage 2' DTUK fitted to my 320d.
The device does make a difference indeed, they quote 230bhp I think, but the bum dyno tells me around 210-220 would be about right. With the device fitted, you don't notice any difference until you reach around 2.4k rpm then the box takes over. The different maps 1, 2 and 3 change the power curve of the map on the device and the + and - adjust how the power comes in. I have my box on 3 + 2 so it's pretty rapid when the box takes over and the power is a very addictive surge when it comes on. It's almost like a VTec (YO) car as you get two stages of power. Hope this helps, i'm sure the 318d box will be very similar as our two engines are pretty similar other than injectors and turbo.
