A few weeks ago, I got pulled over two times on different days in the span of a week about a week and a half...

Exiting off Jeffrey on the 5 South, a cop usually hides somewhere in that carpool parking lot on the right side as you exit. The first time, he noticed my tinted windows, and tailed me all the way to IVC before pulling me over.. He said he pulled me over for my tinted windows.. they ran my license, I had no problems, so they just let me go with a warning.

Then, a few days later, after exiting Jeffrey again, at the intersection of Walnut on Jeffrey, I was waiting to make a left turn on to Jeffrey, while a cop was on Jeffrey waiting to make a left turn onto Walnut. I knew in my gut that I was going to get pulled over for no front plate... so when I made the left (I had my windows rolled down obviously so they couldn't see the tint), the cop made a U-Turn and tailed me again all the way to IVC, and pulled me over for no plates. They ran my license and saw no problems, and again they let me go with just a warning.

And then, a few days after that, driving down Jeffrey approaching Alton, be careful around that area since I saw a cop, hiding in the parking lot behind CVS, where Play N Trade is.. so I was kind of speeding down Jeffrey, I saw a police car with parking lights on, they turned on their headlights and started towards me, I was in the left turn lane waiting to make a left onto Alton, they pulled up behind me, I made the left (without signaling since my left signal was clear), but luckily they decided not to pull me over and they just made a straight down Jeffrey. I'm assuming it was the same two cops that pulled me over for either the license plate or for the tinted windows. So they figured it would've been a waste of time.

So yeah... I'm grateful and lucky they didn't give me any fix-it tickets.. but, it's a pain in the ass to drive down Jeffrey late at night so be careful.

yah... they been cracking down like crazy. i was followed by one for like 15 minutes last night

i'm not from the area but i would say "stop driving down jeffrey!"

one day that cop is just gonna give you a ticket since all these warnings aren't doing any good. you're not putting the front plate on or getting the tint removed.

I saw the same cop waiting on Jeffrey. He didn't do anything to me though. What % is your tint? Mine is 35% (Ceramic so a little bit more clear).

im visiting the oc right now from the bay but im from irvine and all i gotta say is its not just recently that ipd are dicks, its been goin on since i went to high school here in 2001-2003 so get use to it lol

It's always one of the safest cities in America.

That means cops have less things to do. If the city was laden with crime they wouldn't have time to worry about minor traffic infractions.

well I can't say they are dicks just yet, so far they've just pulled me over but never a fix-it ticket.. I guess they are just bored AND lazy...

I think my tint is fairly dark, not sure what % but I usually just drive with my windows down if I am on local streets... That cop got me for tint because I just got off the freeway, and didn't have time to roll them down before he saw.

Safest city or not, you should read the newspaper I think its Irvine Daily News, or something, its free, you can find them in shopping centers where they sell newspapers. Inside you can find a section where it lists all the "crime" that happens during that week and where it was committed. Shocking to see so many car thefts, car part thefts, laptops/ipods stolen from cars, identity fraud, etc. But I guess it's better than murders and rapes.

I think its dumb they are doing all that construction down Jeffrey, what a waste of city funds to build an underpass under the railroad tracks. It was fine before, the traffic never got bad.. but I guess Irvine being so rich they have much $ to waste. just my opinion of course.

Next time a cop decides he's going to play the part of a jackass and follow me in hopes of A) discovering a reason to pull me over (tint, plates, etc.), or B) hoping that I'll make a mistake as he follows me.....I'm just going to IMMEDIATELY find the next parking lot, turn into it, and park.

just saw 3 people pulled over in irvine.... WOW, it's not even the end of the month.

something smart, but that wouldnt stop the cop from getting you.

At the worse case, you will find yourself stuck in the parking lot and cops waiting right outside for you

I like hanging out in Irvine , but I never take my Mustang . They have an eye for modified cars. I know they target ricers, but I still don't want my car to end up on a flatbed. It is a great place to live though.

yah the slow ass camry. i was the only person on the road (fucking irvine city sleeps at 7 pm even on friday nights) so he kept on tail gating me from barranca + von karman all the way to UCI

Funny... I lived in Stanford Court when I was at UCI and my then girlfriend's car was towed from there too.
