Hi

I am hoping to get the PE exhaust soon, found it cheaper to get it through the cotswold group on here and hopefully have it fitted at an indi garage. My local BMW dealer wanted around £830 fitted.

My question is would most indi garages be fine with fitting it given that i believe the original pipe needs cutting for the PE to be clamped on.

Basically is it a pretty straight forward fit if I find a decent local exhaust garage.

Many thanks

Correct. My local BMW dealership didn't even know about a PE for my car and quoted me 2 hours labour!!

Went to an exhaust specialist who took half and hour to fit it.

I was wondering about this too. I read lots of exhaust places wouldn't want to touch anything they didn't supply.

Thanks richk85, what model was it you had? Doesn't surprise me. I'd be saving the best part of £250 by taking to a decent exhaust specialist to be fitted.

Garage List
If it's not included in the box, ask your supplying dealer for a printout of the comprehensive BMW fitting instructions, which will help your exhaust specialist know where to cut.

Shouldn't be an issue for most exhaust places tbd. A lot of factory exhaust are single piece and need to be cut to fit a replacement backbox etc. The place next to Darren Wood is worth a go as I know they've done custom work too.

There's a PDF of the installation instructions you can download off here somewhere. First page is a bit blurry but the rest is good.

Brill I'll look for that pdf, failing that I'll ask the dealer to send a fitting guide.
