Atlanta Autoshow BMW No Show (RANT)

So I get up EARLY this morning. Hit the road and Drive 2 hours to Atlanta to go to the Atlanta Auto show. To my surprise, BMW was a No Show!!! WTF!!! Shocked. Maybe it was posted here somewhere, but I totally had no idea BMW wouldn't be there. I didn't even think to check the displaying manufacturers. I was there last year and BMW represented.

What sucks about it that I was planning to take a look at the F80 to look at the comp package wheels and all, then place my order for ED. Looks like I'm going to have to wait to see it in the flesh.

Was too pissed to hop back on the road so I stopped by Audi and Mercedes....Mercedes represented very well. Mat black 2017 E class and displayed all their AMG models. Mat black AMG C63S looked beastly!!!

If it were all about looks.... Maybe BMW figured since Mercedes is moving their head quarters to Atlanta, they can't compete. I hope not!!!

BMW...step your game up please. Atlanta is a major car market and your competitors were there.

Anyway. Just venting.

I hear Porsche was not their either, and the NA headquarters is in Atlanta.

It was SO SICK!!! Better in person. It was the edition one mat gray with the yellow strip. Yellow contrasting interior stiching...the coupe is where it the love is. The rear seat isn't really usable though. Just had a newborn and the wifey wants a mini basketball team. Plus the sedan looks like a regular AMD C450. Then reality set in and the lack of DCT, gear shift on the column, heavier, etc. but I need to give it a second look and drive it. I'm a BMW whore.

Porsche might as well have not showed to the Chicago auto show. They had a terrible display with 4 base model cars.

Haha as am I! Just started my 3 year lease, maybe I will look into the 2nd gen c63 when the time is closer.

In the same vein, I went to the Richmond auto show in VA this past weekend, and while BMW was there, Cadillac was not. I thought that was strange. I really wanted to see the new V's, the CT5 and especially the CT6.

Well I mean... in OP's defense some times you get excited and don't really check up completely. I do that some times too.

But ya, if BMW said they weren't going to be there and they don't show then that is one thing. If BMW said they are going to be there but doesn't show up that's another.

And Benz... to people worried about car sales... look companies over take each other all the time in sales. It isn't like suddenly Benz is winning out of the blue. Get a grip.

Yeah its bogus man. I wanted to see the ZCP and M2 as Im in the market. Luckily for me I heard Friday that BMW wasnt there so I didnt waste time going downtown. Sorry you wasted your time I agree its ridiculous.

First time they have not been there in a long time. Who would even think BMW wouldnt show up to an auto show in the biggest southern market.

Exactly! Thanks man. I truly did not think for a minute they wouldn't show up. BMW is a staple there. Anyone from the Atlanta Area knows how big of a Autoshow it is. I put it right after the New York and Chicago show as I've lived in both cities. Possibly neck and neck after LA??? (Can't vouch there)

Mercedes had serious lines to see every one of their cars. They had all AMG cars there for the most part. You were barely able to walk. It was ridiculous. And I don't like Mercedes like that.

Lol. Dude. Don't remind me. Lol. It was an epic fail. Arranged for my mother in law to watch the little guy...even convinced the wife to pony up and ride with me. Was so excited. Like a kid in a candy store. Had my camera bag packed with extra memory cards and juice...left it on my office desk. So pissed

realized after we were half way there.
