Armrest cable problem
I am having some issues with my center armrest. When I try to run a cable through such as a aux or lightning cable for my iphone it always pinches the cable when I close the armrest. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there anything I can do to fix this? Would I have to modify the armrest in some minor way to allow some more room (in a small area) without pinching? Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm very tired of these cables breaking over and over

Drill a hole in the bottom of the armrest. Fish the cable down through the hole and out wherever you want it. I came up into one of the cup holders where I have a mount/dock. I pop my iPhone into the dock...no wires, no clutter.

...snap-in connector. Most of us that had them, removed them. Phones change too frequently to make them worth the hefty pricetag of the adapter. Plus in the OP's case, I think he wanted the phone outside the armrest and visible.

Yes I am trying to have the phone outside the armrest, I bought a fairly expensive OEM bmw lightning cable and I don't want the armrest pinching the cable when I close it. Did anyone try modifying the front portion of the armrest to make the gap bigger to allow the cable to move freely?

This is what I did. I think modding the armrest cover is possible but you still have a cord sticking out and the phone just kind of floating around. It could prob be done win a dremel.

I found a "flat" lightning cable at best buy that fits fairly nicely in the gap between the console and the arm rest cover. I have it sticking out of the right side of the console and draped between the console and the passenger seat when I'm not using it. It's not a perfect solution, but it works.

I bet you put your phone in the handy gap between the seat and the thigh extenders, right? We had a funny thread on here about the various uses people have for that gap.
