Apple Carplay

Hi Folks,

Anyone have an intel on when Apple Carplay will come to the F34? I have read that 2017 is the year BMW starts to roll it out..

I also wonder if it's going to be a step up, step down, something I would rarely use, or just a great added feature to what is currently supplied.

We have an auto show coming up, so looking forward to playing with it, the new Accord has it.

Is BMW doing an exclusive deal with Apple or are they leaving it open to others such as Android Auto?

I suspect they would want to go play fair, since more than half the world uses Android. Just my opinion

Not sure if it is same thing (I'm not real techie), but perhaps it is since it shows iOS 9 at the top. I just got my new GT today and I have an iPhone 6s+. I have Heads up Display, and get what looks like all those features, all controlled by small wheel/knob on steering wheel.

NO DOUBT!!! Within 5 years for sure... and it's going to be pretty interesting. Google, Apple, Tesla, There are a lot of people there who are committed to changing the world..

Would be great to get away from Fossil fuels and destroying the earth. WE might get a thank you card in some form or another.

Hi. I just became the new member of Bimmerpost after placing my order for my first first BMW, a 3GT 320D Luxury LCI with Carplay.

From what I heard, it is mandatory to choose the induction charging option - which is totally absurd considering that none of the iphones has that feature yet.

Delivery forecast is the end of Nov.

I think the option would work very well specially for navigation/live traffic. I suppose it can not be retrofitted to the original F34?
