Mercedes-AMG E43, This should be interesting it's not a V8 but hmm.. Tons of Potential...Depending upon price might upset a few cars in the class.

Engine Displacement: V6 Biturbo 2996 cc

Output: 396 hp at 6100 rpm

Peak torque: 384 lb-ft at 2500-5000 rpm

Curb Weight: 4,145 lbs

Acceleration 0-60 mph: 4.5 s

Top speed: 155 mph (electronically limited)

Hmm, so they are boosting the power of the 3.0L V6 even higher now? Can't be long before all AMG *43 models make the same power as this one.

Basically these AMG "43" models are Merc's version of BMW's 'M Performance Automobiles' [MPA]s (i.e., M235i, M760Li, etc.).

Except for Mercedes-Benz, they started out as what they call 'AMG Sport' models. The official name for the C450 is Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG, whereas the C63 is the Mercedes-AMG C63.
But Mercedes is planning on streamlining the 'AMG Sport' models into the AMG brand completely.
So officially, the 'AMG Sport' models will thereafter be sold as Mercedes-AMG cars (i.e., Mercedes-AMG C43)

Yes.
I wonder how much power could be gotten out of this motor... I am assuming 425hp with a tune wouldn't be out of reach, which in a C43 with AWD might not be a bad thing.

All specs looked good till I got to 4145 lbs .....with options and drive that thing is over 4400 lbs...eeeek
2016 f150 full size ecoboost is around 4250 lbs

Mercedes is just killing it. Unfortunately for BMW, the new C-Class and E-Class has aged the 3er and 5er in comparison and we're still a few years away from the GXX 3er and 5er.

Mercedes is serious with one-size-fit-all theme, but I look at the C and E-Class and I can see the design lasting at least two generations with minimal changes. I can't say the same with the 3er and 5er. We all know how conservative BMW is with designs so based on that, if they take the current models and do minor updates, the outlook is looking bleak. I hope I'm wrong.

Actually the G30 5 Series is just months away. Production starts in November. And these are going to be on CLAR like the G12, so some measure of CF is to be expected. No weight miracle is likely, but BMW will certainly be advancing the state of the art.

It's an ever present game of tug-o-war. Mercedes has the hotness right now, BMW will have their time soon.

Over 500hp seems in reach, in fact. But, with almost 400hp and no V8-powered E550 in the range, they will likely be pricing this nearer the V8 competitors (550i, S6) than a V6 model would have been in the past.

Agree on both fronts.

But I think MB will underprice the 550i/S6.. Reason being is I think this is going to be the only V6 offering in NA. I think the NA lineup will be this V6 as tuned, the two turbo 4s (Gas & Diesel) then the plug in hybrid. Then most likely a E63 and or just solely the E63s.

If you can have two twin turbo v8s both with 450hp vs. a 400HP six( I am a whore and would buy the V8s).. they would be wise to undercut the competition then have the E63 just above then the E63s higher.

That ugly donkey in the room is the damn sexy but still ugly Cadillac CTSv and CTSv Sport with 640 Hp for 85K

Nice to know. Thought we were still at least a year out, didn't know production was going to start this year.

The Brabus tune for the C450 is nasty, cannot imagine this will be any less.
