I thought this thing would be great but it looks quite boring. Is there going to be a sportier trim??

Would be for dad so not really concerned w looks. Mostly deciding based on everything else. At the end of the day - it's a Volvo wagon. Not looking to light the world on fire w sexy styling for him.

It may not be sexy, but it's handsome. It looks good without making a statement. Reminds me of a longer Audi wagon, so I'm not sure if there is much of a market for this kind of car in the US.

I would love a sportier large wagon that isn't $100k (E63). Father of two who still likes to have fun...

There are many fathers of 2 who drive a 3 series sedan (or wagon if you still have strollers). I drove an impreza wagon before my 2 kids started elementary school. Now I have a 2-seater. Screw the kids

I grew up in the back seat of a 1981 Toyota Corolla (until 1993) but that was the 80s. It's 2016 and car seats are the size of a Honda Goldwing and kids are supposed to stay in them until college. It's ridiculous.

It's why I have an anemic Mazda3 wagon. It's got a stick and holds the kid's detritus. Unless you want an automatic, choices are really scarce here. Trying to decide if I can live with the Focus RS interior.

410 hp should be ok right? Anything more and I'd imagine you'd run the risk of the little ones reporting back to their mother that "daddy is driving like the TV racer guys."

That's the exact word is use to describe it, a handsome car. Which is perfect for what I need.

I personally LOVE this car and applaud Volvo for keeping the wagon alive. I was a huge fan of the 850R back in the day.

I would DD the living hell out of this thing. These new Volvos are no joke

LOL, I hear you. I grew up in the back seat of a Dodge Colt in the 80's as well. I'm just saying if an Impreza wagon is big enough for a Britax marathon then a 3 series wagon or an Audi Allroad should be big enough too. My sister also has an impreza wagon and can fit 2 cars seats plus a booster across the back row. The hatch-style trunk leaves plenty of space for 2 strollers and groceries. I think people these days always buy bigger thinking that they "might" use the extra space once in a while.

I also would like to say, that while I like the S90, this V90 destroys it in the looks department

The allroad is certainly on my short list. Hell, I'm driving a CC now and having no trouble - thanks to my wife's Jeep GC Overland Hemi. People talk about the small back seat in the allroad but as long as two seats fit back there, I think I'll be fine.

Like this quite a bit. Much rather have this than the XC90.

Also really like the V60 (polestar)

Polestar is great but they lease like shit. I'm talking $1k/mo for a $55k car.

Looks great to me; Volvo is turning out some great products right now, but like the XC90, I'd struggle to spend such money on a four cylinder.

Well actually I am with our camper but that's different!

yawn...nice car but not sporty or particularly attractive. I don't know how Audi does it, but the wagon formula must be a patent because they seem to be the only ones who make ones that I'll buy over a sedan.
The smaller V40 looks better but still the performance is just not something Volvo is competing in.

Agreed, it's a really nice looking car at least based on the photos I have seen. Really excited to see it in person, it's probably going to be either that or the all new Allroad for dad based literally entirely on which one is easier to get in and out of for him. Kind of hoping it's the Volvo, for a change from his current Allroad if nothing else...

I have been back there, granted I am not that big but it's very comfortable. The sport seats are really, really, really nice. Love the 2015 we have, and the 2017 looks better in every possible way. Some Allroad hard core nuts will tell you the old one was better, but honestly I think it's just a bunch of extra shit to break. I will say, though, that the current A6-based Allroad that I saw in EU a few months back was pretty damn awesome, would probably take that over the A4-version that's here.

I have also heard not so good things about that power plant. Honestly when it comes to Volvo these days I would have a VERY hard time getting anything that doesn't have Chinese money behind it. XC60 for instance no way, I'd 100% wait for the new one.

Yeah it's one of the sharpest looking cars on the road so I'm glad to hear it will fit my kiddies. Now I'm just watching the clock until this CC lease is up.
