lol - probably the most anticipated add-on for the 340i. Probably the only reason I check this sub. When it is released it will be PIA. MPE is PIA already, but not the MPPK.
I already want more powerrrrrr. Can't wait for the Power and Sound Kit. |

I'm expecting my 340i within 2 weeks and was hoping it would have come out by now. Would have been nice built into the lease. But now if I'm going to have to pay outright I'm seriously debating going AWE full exhaust and Jb4 right away. Decisions decisions... |

If they could just release it before the end of April, that'd be great. That way I can have them install it at the PDC before re-delivery.

0-100 mph in the 9 second range according to the youtube counter. That's a full second faster than 35xi with MPPK. For reference, a DCT M3/4 does it in around 8 seconds.

Mmmmh... It looks really fast, incredibly fast, maybe too much for only 360ps and a flat road... I'll wait for more vids

Was the road flat in this YouTube vid? Why wouldn't they put an MPPK tuned version of the B58 in the new M2?? |

I have a 340 on order and am dying for this kit. Still hoping it's available before mine comes in late April/early May.
But has anyone else worried that the delayed MPPK might be related to the B58 engine recall? My 340 is a 6MT, so I am on alert for 6MT-specific issues and probably being paranoid. But here is the fact pattern as I see it: 1) The initial numbers for the MPPK suggested lower torque figures for the 6MT. At the time this seemed logical, albeit unfortunate. That's the way of the world these days, modern ATs are often rated for higher torque, part of why manuals are dying. 2) Then there were some rumors that the MPE might only be available for the automatics. Didn't seem to make much sense and I didn't think much of it. Probably just the kinks of a new product getting to market. 3) And finally the 6MT-specific B58 engine replacement service bulletin. SA builds only, only 45 cars so far, etc. Again, most likely just a glitch related to rolling out a new engine. But I put them all together, along with the delay in the MPPK release, and I wonder if there are deeper issues brewing with the 6MT B58s? I'm hoping it's just anxious paranoia that comes with waiting for a new car with a new engine. But I do worry about it. |

My points are these: today's auto trannys are extremely quick when upshifting WOT. Also, the M2 is rated at only 10 more HP while being RWD, resulting in inevitable slippage off the line. Albeit it's about 300 lbs lighter than the 340xi. The 6MT M2 traps a remarkable 113. The 340i with power/sound kit won't come close to this. The N55 is used in the M2 because it shares many components of the S55 (M3/4) and the M division could more easily upgrade it. As good as the B58 appears to be, the N55 in the M2 is more bulletproof and high performance orientated.
