FS: 335is 3.08 Differential 2012

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 425.00

Item Interest
I have a stock 335is differential with 3.08 gears for sale. I took it off my car before modding so its got about 50k miles with a stock 335is tune. I've upgraded my rear end to a M3 so I no longer need the stock differential. Fluid should be in good shape as it was changed not too long before taking it off.

Here's a couple of pictures of it.

Looking to get $425 or BO. Shipping not included. (I get cheap shipping rates through work's warehouse.)

How difficult was it to do the M3 rear end? I found out that a DCT M3 has i think a 3.15 ratio so its almost a perfect match.
Did you do the whole rear end, hubs brakes etc or just the axles and drive shaft?
how much did it cost you to get the driveshaft shortened?
thank you in advance

It was kind of a pain tbh that cost a lot more than I wanted. I don't know if i'd personally still do it now that I've seen the cost and gains. The M3 diff required new half shafts and a M3 drive shaft. You'll need to cut the part of the drive shaft that goes to the trans as it has a different bolt pattern for the 335 vs M3. I forced mine to fit best as I could but I don't recommend it. Shops charge like $300 to get it cut welded and balanced. Now that its in I've got pretty bad wheel hop, but it definitely grips better overall with the new diff installed.

Hi, I was just wondering how come you decided on a M3 rear (was it a performance reason, or a convenience reason because it was available at a good price?), because it seems like another good option is to just install a good aftermarket LSD into the 335is differential unit.

Anyway, good luck with the sale. Hope you can share with me your thoughts.
