Drift?

Anyone out there drift f30?
Ive drifted a manual 350z but not auto bimmer.
How do you guys drift f30 auto? Ebrake cable (cable or hydraulic?) and evrake pad strong enough to withstand constant stress over time?

I take it on track

Just man up and admit that you have no clue what you're doing. I highly doubt you have any significant "track" time. It sounds like someone who has been to a few instructional AutoX and HPDEs would already know the answer to this question.

"Drifting" an auto would be similar to a manual car. You should be able to manually select the gear you want to be in on the auto.

Rofl. I dont know what you consider as "track" time. But i used to go every week for autox and once or twice a month at a track for drifting. Not saying im a pro or anything.
Im new to bmw and was curious what other f30 drifters are doing with ebrake (modification?), techniques and whatever. Every car handles differently.
I didnt know this was something i would be bashed over man

Lol. Every week for AutoX and once or twice a month for drifting. Yes, we believe you because that is definitely not expensive.

Anyways, you basically have 2 problems:
1. Power/torque on the 328i.
2. Open differential/lack of a limited slip rear diff

i know that and was curious to know what they are doing to overcome those issues. Suspension setup, technique and such. Also i came from v6 so its quite different from 328i with turbo.

Also the fact that the F30 FAT8 has no ability to clutch kick, shift lock, Feint etc it makes it rather different than drifting a clutch car.

Don't forget, he's also missing LSD, you can drift with the 8AT, but no LSD, no game.
That's an easy fix.

ROFL.

Seriously though DO NOT pull the E brake while in gear on an automatic!!! Where exactly do you envision the drive train is going to slip between locked wheels and a running engine.

Nothing happens. I tried it once at low speed on a ice track to see how the car reacted. My car nicely asked me to put it down again because I was driving. Then I tried the same at 50mph and got the same message.

The main obstacle when trying to drift an F30 is the open differential (E-Diff). This essentially means that power is sent to the wheel encountering the least resistance. With the DSC off, you will end up with one spinning wheel. With the DTC or stability systems on - the car will try to apply brakes to individual rear wheels in an attempt to transfer power. Either way, you will find it extremely hard to hold a drift.

Easily solved with a 300 shot of NOS.

i have been pulling ebrakes in the snow lol. very easy to slide and control.
This way i dont have to try to keep the RPM up for instant boost all the way
