Jan 2013 build it became standard. A weird move by BMW, launch a new 3 series and 6 months later add DAB as standard. Our Sept 12 car doesn't have it which is a shame.

I never use as reception is too hit and miss. i just stick with FM, much more reliable

I know on the E9* you can get a DAB unit which connects through the socket for the CD Multi changer.

From memory it's a device made by Fistune, but I think it's pricey. £300 upwards plus a DAB antenna.

You'd need a new CIC head unit with DAB built in, plus a DAB/FM amp to replace the current FM only amp under the shark fin, plus the cabling to go to the head unit. It's quite a large job!

I wouldn't bother as the chap above says. The reception is poor and always drops out for me (North West). However, it's great quality...when you can pick it up!

If you listen to the local stations then the signal can be poor, but the BBC stations are generally very good.
