discoloration on shadowline trim

Any tips for getting rid of this discoloration on the bottom window trim? It almost looks like corrosion. It is on both drivers and passenger side, but only on that one portion(right under the window)

I had exactly the same on my trim around the window, I used a light cutting compound and they come up looking near enough brand new with a deep shine.

Hope that helps
