Why is this a special? You put a non-refundable deposit just to get on the list and you are not guaranteed a car? No thanks!

I am positive we will fulfill every order. As you can imagine this car is going to be HOT. Let us work for your car quicker in your driveway.

Don't forget , we don't make money until you buy.

Non-Refundable takes priority over Refundable.

Benzima why do you think this is a problem and have you seen better? Compare with $1000, $1500, $2000, and even $3000 - all actually quoted deposit amounts. Unless they're adding it to price.

I am always nervous putting down non refundable deposits. I put down a $1k refundable deposit. My deposit becomes non-refundable once the production of my car reaches 112 status.

What if someone puts down a non-refundable deposit with you and there is an unexpected delay of ordering the M2 say of about 3-6 months than is that buyer forced to wait to order with you if he finds an immediate allocation somewhere else? Or can he get his money and buy elsewhere?

I've ordered cars before and then not taken them for whatever reason, as long as you don't order something stupid option-wise the dealer should be fine moving the car and giving you your deposit back. Since there are so few options on the M2 literally anything you can order they will be able to sell. If you were getting something like a custom pink car with teal interior that no one would want sure, I could see them making you take delivery. But in this case there's no way.

My concern would be to put a non-refundable deposit (wheter it is 500$ or 3000$) on a car you probably won't have or is not available yet (but Mo@FairFax says he is confident all customers will be satisfied).

I guess it's their rep on the line. They might be paricularly good at allocation swaps which means buyer wouldn't have to shop around.

Smart to do this.

I just talked to GM of a west coast store who will do the same.

They already have 12-13 people on the waiting list already. I don't think you'd get your car anytime soon on this list. Better to find a shorter one.

Yes I am No. 4 on my dealer that sells the most M's in the country. So they should get a few allocations off the bat.

We appreciate honorable dealers that stick to MSRP!

Question, might be premature, but honestly how many allocations are you guys anticipating per month?

Since you have 10+ people on the list is it safe to assume if you're 10+ on the list, it'll be around the end of year or start of next year before getting an allocation?

My deposit at BMW of Seattle was $5,000. But no part of it is not refundable. The non-refundable angle of this deal concerns me. If the more pessimistic guesses of actual car availability are right, then it would cost you that $500 to walk away when you learned your car was well over a year down the pike, and the dealer makes $500 for nothin'.

If production is more along the lines of the more optimistic guesses, it won't matter.

It would not be good business to take $500 from a client in exchange for nothing.
