Does E9X M3 Cluster face plate fit E9x Non-M cluster?
Hi, guys.
I found a set of cluster face plate set on Ebay for M3 cluster. http://www.ebay.com/itm/111836810191...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I was wondering if those face plates will fit 335i cluster? If it does, then we can just swap the face plates instead of the expansive whole cluster. Any thoughts? Edit: If it does not work, the seller says the M logo will light up... |

sure it will fit but that's the ricer way to do it. and your tach will read wrong because it will still be scaled to the non-M face. I don't know if the speedo goes above 260kph on the M3 but that would also have the wrong scaling.

Maybe - I don't know if a Non-M cluster will take the M3 coding. Maybe somebody has tried?
Another option would be to buy a used M3 cluster and have somebody blank the EEPROM so you can write your VIN and odo to it.. that for sure has been done already. |

Won't work, scaling is off and no way to code it.
Buy used, blank VIN from EEPROM, code via Expermodus. That's what I did and it wasn't that hard. About $50 for the EEPROM programmer and SOP 8 clip and $319 shipped for the cluster. Much nicer than the crappy stock cluster. |
