Didn't read all the articles, but I'm assuming if you order the Pure, it's like an iPhone - take it how it is. No color choice even? It would seem that cutting production costs is taken to the very edge.

My dealer said you can still add options... Eg. He said if you want a manual get pure and add your desired options, it might still be cheaper.

Are there any distinctions between the pure and regular M2 apart from the options? As in are there any specific colours just for the pure edition or anything of that nature? Only colour I ever see is LBB.

Where is that guy that kept whining about the M2 not being a good value in Oz?

M2 pure = stripper

And of course I would imagine color is a selection.

Or can add a few options to your stripper ala cart, but not too many, because otherwise you might as well go loaded.

Seems silly IMO. But I'm often wrong, as is the case here. I figured the real reason to have a stripper model would be to have a preconfigured model that had no options, which allowed them to market it to the enthusiast at the lowest price possible, having the most likely options already set (easy to churn these out). Oh well... it has nothing to do with that - just another stupid marketing gimmick.

the aussie dollar is like .72 US dollars now.

when the 1m was out it was worth more. in 2011 it was worth .91-.99 dollars per aussie dollar.

so in converted american dollars its an even bigger gap than the $10k would seem

I spoke with a dealer earlier today. Confirm the above options and price (I was quoted incl. GST excl LCT).

What sort of price are people negotiating?

I'm not in a rush to secure a build slot.

I've placed a deposit for a Pure in mineral grey- April build and June delivery.

Ended up chatting with a few dealers and getting a reasonable discount.

Very excited!

I put a deposit down two weeks ago. No build allocation yet. It's funny how you've received one. Two separate dealers I spoke to said the system is not open yet for orders. Not until February. The first cars to roll off the line will be pre-built and allocated as demo cars for dealers.

I managed no discount. M2 with sunroof. Can't decide on tranny choice still though!

What is "reasonable"? If you can share that is. It would appear that most are ordering with minimal or no discount. Congrats btw.
