It's all about the back seat, and the level of luxury / ride quality you want to impart to passengers. Also, do you take long road trips, or do you stay relatively close to home? How important is the passenger experience for your situation? Are you primarily driving alone, or do you frequently take other people with you?

We have a 6 gran coupe, an x5m and a new 7. I find myself wanting to be in the 7 more often than the others. Even though they are all 2016's, the other two can't compare to the comfort and features of the 7.

I rarely travel for long distance not I have passengers in the back

If ACC is important, don't get the M.

You just answered your own question then. You don't need a 7. The 7 is supremely comfortable on long trips for up to four people, but can be a handful in congested areas.

I love my 7, but I'm a total road-tripper, and always have another couple with us on those journeys.

I have had 2 750s in the past, now switched to X6M and can't be happier. Was gonna wait for the G12 but decided to go for driving fun this time, once you go M it's hard to go back, so my next ride would be M760

Haha! Agreed. I had an E93 M3, and moved up to an F02 740Li as my daily driver. Huge mistake going from that amazing V8 to an I6 in such a big car. My 7 is no slouch, but it just doesn't push me back in my seat the way the M3 used to haha! So this time around, I'm sticking with size, but am stepping up the engine -- ordering a G12 750i.
