Can I lease one? Beat the hell out of it on track.
And then at the end of the lease, find a buyer (I'm sure there are plenty), choose to buy option lease and sell it twice the sticker price.

Yikes.... I wasn't the target consumer for this car so my opinion is meaningless here but I'm curious what people that actually were serious about buying think about this. This thing will be awesome but at this pricepoint the bar is quite high.

We expected the cost of the GTS to be slightly under $150k this whole time, so this isn't a shocker.

Getting a GT3 is easier said than done. Even if you walk into a Porsche dealer with a brief case of cash, there's still no guarantee you'll get one. Also, no one ever buys a base GT3. With the options loaded, you're looking at $160k. You haven't consider the cost of maintaining a GT3. $600 oil change vs free for a BMW. If you have a good relationship with your BMW dealer, they might be able to give you $5-10k off (if you bought 5+ cars from the same dealer before, you have a chance). This GTS should hold its value very well, as it is extremely rare. For those who missed the opportunity of the GT4, this is the next best option.

That's actually quite a bit cheaper than I thought it would be.

Personally I don't see the value at twice the going rate of an M3/M4, but it certainly will be rare!

GT3 money ? not exactly ...

- GT3 base 185.000 €

- M4 GTS base 146.200 €

And then there's Porsche maintenance...

Both out of my reach anyway

Things I would rather have:

-My M4 + slightly used RR Sport
-My M4 + 2014 Jeep Sahara + 2012 Mustang GT Convertible
-My M4 + 2010 Cayman S + all the gear needed to make it #racecar

I think this car is too expensive and not desirable enough. But I bet they sell 100% of the cars they make.

Agree with all as above. Cayman GT4 is back for sale again I hear..

no doubt... on the " bad price.. "... and " I'd rather have a GT3..." etc..

I'm not the target demographic for the M4/M3 (too big a car for m really.. ) or the M4 GTS or a 911... (.. now the price is too big.) but if BMW would like to bring an M2 CSL to market to compete with the Cayman GT4... just bring me an M2 CSL/GTS please and I will have my 1M plus cash ready. .

That should put it at about $153000 in Canada if the same price differential exists as in the M4 which is about what I figured in the 1st place but of course I would be happier if it is cheaper .Still $20000 less than a GT3 with proper equipment here in Canada if they were still sold.A GT3RS is at least $220000 MSRP if you could get one!
