YMB LCI M3 Ordered
After following the M2 for quite a while and being a little dissapointed with the lack of extra features that I would have liked (performance aspects aside) I decided to bite the bullet, not worry about the larger size footprint and spring for the F80 M3.
Ordered as LCI, 6MT, Yas Marina Blue, Silver wheels & tints Anyone know when I should expect to be allocated a build date? And how long till delivery once this happens Thanks Last edited by Hazey82; 01-05-2016 at 08:13 PM.. Reason: Colour change |

I got my production allocation week in about 2 weeks, VIN came about a month later - delivery around 3.2 months (Sep 7 - December 10)
Once you get the VIN you can track the delivery date and ship it is coming in on. |

Fortunatly I am in a position where I will be able to have both for a while and will use that time to make my decision. I hope the F80 delivers and I will be able to get over the engine not being as responsive and lacking character of the S54 as it is perfect in every other aspect. Its a comprimise I guess |

I got a call the day after I placed my order from one dealership saying a Cayman GTS allocation opened up. As much as it ticks everything I want in a sport car I couldn't justify the extra cost for 2 less seats. |

Having debated about what you wanted in the M2, I really think you made the right choice here. Good stuff!

well done hazey, ha ha I've found all the M2 people here!! think I'm gunna give up on the m2 as well, bought an m3 for my old man from Sylvania last year and with a tune it'll put 2 car lengths in my 991 c2s on the straight at EC, I doubt an m2 will do that, they are quick
pretty jealous, nothing can beat the sound of that 3.8, would be very interested to know the price these are going for, some sales guy at Sydney south told me 220k? is that right? |

A Spyder with the must have bits in metalic is sub $200 OTR retail. Sure, if you tick all the options, ceramics and lotsa leather, $220+ is a definite. |

So been patiently waiting for my car. Tracking showed it was liner released on the 24th Jan and was "delivered from" on the 28th. Another member on here had their car on the same boat and picked it up on the 5th Jan.
Dealer telling me it's not just my car but others that are delayed. Also gave me some weak excuse it was due to the weather. Something doesn't add up. How can some cars from the same boat get delivered ahead by 2 weeks. Feeling a little annoyed because my stupid finance company has already paid them back on the 28th! I'm just worried it's been damaged and they are stalling while it gets fixed. |

Finally got some answers. Cannot believe it. Been waiting 4 months for this not to mention the 6months before while following the M2.
Idiots who inspect the cars in Minto left the bonnets open on a bunch of cars and the big winds we had in NSW blew them back. My options 1. Order a new car wait another 4 months 2. There is another YMB at the processing yard. They can swap the bonnet and struts. I seriously don't know what to do. Have concerns of mechanic leaning on fender, banging a spanner around, factory paint striping requiring touch ups on bolts, not looking factory and alignment issues. Looking at the White M4 pics it's just a matter of undoing the 4 bolts I guess if they did this at the bottom of the bracket where it's hidden in the engine bay? But then alignment? Apparently when cars are damaged if they are repairable onsite they don't even notify the dealers or customers. When my dealer initially enquired they were just told there are delays due to bad weather. I've included pics of a white M4 to show the bolts Thoughts? |

That sucks. I would probably get them to repair with the proviso that you won’t accept the car unless you are 100% happy with the job they have done. I would also try to get some free stuff thrown in, such as window tint.
I am only just starting my months of wait and not sure I would want to start again after getting so close. |

I'd be livid, this would be my worst nightmare. And is always at the back of my mind as I also patiently wait for my build.
But I'm the type of person that would sell his car once it gets a small ding on it. Hard to say what I'd do if I was in your situation, because I'm not. But my initial thought would be to get a new car ordered and be compensated for the inconvenience and distress that it would have caused me. Maybe a competition package at no extra cost? I highly doubt I would settle for a repair. |

Tough call this one - on one hand, the actual damage probably isn't too much and should be repaired 100%. On the other hand, if you agree to the repair and it isn't done right, you will be annoyed.
It's not like it's a car accident where there's been damage due to the car hitting another car... Changing a bonnet isn't all that complex. If I were you I would accept the repair on the basis that it's done by an experienced BMW crash repair centre, not some mechanic in the processing yard. Also, you should have the right to inspect and refuse to take delivery if the repair isn't up to standard. When I bought mine, it was a demonstrator and it needed the bonnet and rear bumper re-sprayed due to a couple of small scratches - no one can tell. |
