Unhappy My wounded Beemer! 😢

We came out of our Sunday carvery a moment ago and found a note on the windscreen from someone saying they'd hit my car! We had a look round in the dark car park and couldn't see anything at first, but then noticed the top of the boot lid and spoiler, what the hell could hit there but not the bumper we thought!?

A fecking Dodge Ram, that's what!

It's not massive damage though, and I'm very fortunate that he left genuine details and is admitting liability, thank god!

I'm still foomin' though!

And yes I know the car is filthy, but it hasn't stopped raining in days!

Sorry to hear that but great to hear the guy was decent enough to leave details, in this day and age many wouldn't.

I try and get some cash from him in honesty - that won't cost a great deal to repair.

So annoying, but nice to see some honesty left in the world.

Too big for ChipsAway ?

Feel for you dude

Only good (!!) thing is that it shows that there's still some decent people around

Is the metal bent on the top or is it just paint ???

I'm going to contact his insurance company and give them the opportunity to sort it directly, on the conditions that it's repaired at BMW & I get a like for like courtesy car.

Having just gone through this almost exact scenario recently with my front bumper, I feel for you. Hopefully you get a better colour match than I managed... Good luck with the repairs

in my case they guy who nudged my parked car was with direct line. They tried to get me to use their repairers, but didn't take much to allow me to use bmw. Also hire car was a 320d after a request for something appropriate. Not quite like for like, but better than bargain basement run around Peugeot the bodyshop would have offered.

He is with Adrian Flux, so not sure how it will go, when I rang them for a quote the guy I spoke to was a complete donut!

That sucks teaston, hopefully will be sorted soon! Just make sure if it goes to Cooper they don't give you one of their 116d's

Would you not encourage him to pay cash and thus not have a claim. Depends on your insurer but plenty will bump your premium even for a non fault claim. I would try to avoid having any record of the incident.

The insurers will be happy you're going direct with them. Would cost them a lot more if you were to use a claims management company.

Had a no fault accident in July, the other party admitted liability immediately. I have a convertible 120d. Accident happened on Sunday afternoon, spoke to ageas on the Monday, they delivered me an e class saloon on the Tuesday as a short term measure and had my car collected and taken to my choice of repairer (Cooper tunbridge wells), and swapped me into a 435d convertible before the weekend.

It almost made it worth crashing.

Sorry to hear about the damage.

Decent of the bloke to leave his full details and is happy to sort.

Hopefully will just be a straightforward fix n repair.

The cost of the repair will be far more than his excess so I doubt he'd be prepared to do that. Plus I don't see why I should have to drive around in a Mini or 116d when this is not my fault, it's already bad enough having the hassle of sorting this all out.

How annoying is that - hope it's not too much grief to get sorted.

I'll be interested to know what the approved BMW body shop says about the non-approved aftermarket spoiler - I wonder how they'll go about repairing that?

So I just realised Adrian Flux have a 24 hour claim line so I spoke to a claims person there who advised me to go to my insurer or a claim management company if I had one in mind!

Off too Coopers (booo) bodyshop tomorrow to order the repair and a nice courtesy car from Accident Exchange!

Wonder what the AE daily courtesy car charge will be for a like-for-like? Is that a MP spoiler I see? I take it that's declared so you'll get a new one? Hope you get a good colour match! The unfortunate thing is we're lacking decent daylight for you to see the colour in the outdoors when its fixed!

Doesn't matter if it's declared on my insurance or not, i'm claiming on his insurance.
