Tyre Information
At present I have Bridgestone Potenza RFT fitted. They have been on the car from new and have covered a very low millage. At my location tyres are very expensive so my plan was to change them to non RFT when its time to renew.
Michelin at my location told me I can use their product for 10 years from the date on the tyre if there is ample tread and there is no indication of cracking or other visual damage. They informed me after 5 years they need checked visually on a regular basis and when they hit 10 years they need replaced. Just checking if someone knows the lifespan of these Bridgestone RFT |

To my knowledge all new tyres are now date stamped. So what they told you about te Michelin tyres will be similar to other brands. Pretty sure if you search online for tyres dates you will get loads f useful information, after all it's against the law to sell tyres without dates.
I would say it's a good move to move away from run flats and Michelin tyres are very good and do last longer vs other tyres. |

At present I have RFT that are in great condition but will soon approach 5 years. Please can you let me know the following My front tyres are 225 x 40 x 18 fitted to 8J alloys. Due to the pricing structure on the Michelin would it be possible to fit 235 x 40 x 18 or is everything best left standard |

If they're still in good condition then i'm sure you can continue using them. At least here in the UK, its simply a recommendation that they should be replaced at that point.
Many folk have selected to upsize to 235/40's, you shoudlnt have any issues. |
