How far would you travel for your car?

So you buy a new or used car.

How far around the country would you travel to be there on handover?

All depends on the deal as that would be calculated into whether it was worth travelling for the right money! Generally I'll travel upto 200miles for the right car but I've also worked delivery into some of my car purchases where it's been too far or not convenient.
Collecting a car can be exciting but for me, if I can take the lazy option I will

Quite happily drive to BMW for it, shame we don't have 'European' collection.

I have twice ordered new RHD BMWs from Europe, flown out to Frankfurt, and Eurostar to Brussels to collect. Both times on 20th December, which allows you to register in the UK as a new year car. In fact you (at least you used to) find a precession of nice RHD cars being driven back to the UK on that date.

In the UK two of mine, including the 335d, have come from dealers 300 miles away. They just happened to have a new car available in the right spec which saved the wait.

All depends on if it's the car you want.

I Drove from Cheshire to Dundee to pick up an ex demonstrator.

Was one of two available in the color/options I wanted. Other was in central London and I didn't fancy that route.

I travelled form the Orkney Islands to Manchester for my current Estoril Blue 335i M Sport. A far distance (1050 mile round trip) but it was the only car in that colour with the auto box at the time. Plus what a drive home!

Know and have chatted to quite a few spams who have arranged their BMW's via European collection.

When I lopped in to Ford to ask about the Mustang, I asked if they were doing a North American collection service

Would be nice way to spend a week with your new car

I have had last couple delivered to me, it's the same price as if I picked it up from Park Lane.

However, would definitely love picking up from the actual plant and driving home.

My 330dx was on a very good pre-LCI deal in Llandudno, right colour, decent enough spec. As I was unable to travel to collect it I sent my son down and he very much enjoyed the drive back to Keswick.

Cheers

Live in Herts and bought last two cars in Perth, so I can definitely say I'd go 440 miles for one!
