Buckled alloy
Hi people,
Whilst getting a new tyres fitted a noticed it was wobbling whilst being balanced. I'm guessing this means it's buckled and I just need a new one? Also will this effect the cars handling much? Thanks |

There is a difference between buckled and dented.
buckled is where the centerline of the rim is skewed off the centerline of the bolt hub. dented is where there is a flatspot on the wheel. i had a buckled wheel it was too bad to balance out with weights. i used to get vibrations at around 50mph and 80mph. and it caused significant wear to the inside edge of the tyre. Mine was a rear wheel. if its front it may have different characteristics. but if you can replace it |

yeah i think i will, something doesnt quite feel right with the handling, at higher speeds it feels a bit loose if that makes sense, so ill get the new wheel and then the tracking done

More likely the tracking is out than the wheel. If it balances fine you'll barely feel even a serious buckled wheel.
Yes it should be replaced especially if you've got a wheel style which is cheap. |
