Thoughts on color match (seems horrible to me)

View post on imgur.com

I had them do my fender and front bumper, the color seems to be very off if you compare it to the hood or pillars. Their response was well it needs to be blended, which they did on the door.

And that's where I feel it becomes obvious their color match isn't good, the first half of the door looks completely different than the right half.

They botched that job, usually if i can tell via an internet photo its pretty bad, they fucked up, but you fucked up not paying them to blend the fender into the hood.

Insurance or out of pocket? Honestly at this point it looks like a sticky situtation body shop will loose all profit fixing the job so they will fight tooth and nail. But you do have ground to s5and on co sixering the blend is noticable.

This is why you spend money on paintwork and dont cheap out. The otherday people thought i was stupid for quoting a quarter panel replacement and door at 8k. People dont relise when you cheap out this is what happens. To replace a fender and bumper the whole front have of the car needs to be painted plus the door.

Ask for a spray out of the color they used, then rub it in there face when it doesnt match.

Out of pocket, they did a respray on my older panel and it was still off. I don't have to pay much but a giant waste of time.

Could they just do the entire door for you? At least if there's a colour difference separated by a panel gap it might be less obvious?

The color match is way off. It almost looks like you have one of those paint jobs from the 80s that transition from one color to another.

Gotcha. Either way, that's a poor job. It's like someone just masked up half the door and used a spraycan from an auto parts store.

Not good. That is way off. Almost to the point where you think they used the wrong color paint.

Fuck, they need to fire their paint-mixer. Definitely sucks but nothing that can't be fixed.
