Different settings for standard and M Sport suspension for wheel alignment?
I've always seen 'sport suspension' specified on the print outs from wheel alignments. It would make sense there was a difference between standard and M Sport but I have recently been told there is no difference when alignment was recently done. That can't be right can it?

Right. But say an SE having standard suspension would be different to MSport suspension yes? Therefore different settings. Plus on the screen it shows standard and sport suspension options. What's the point if they're the same settings?

What do you mean on screen? Are you talking about sports mode? The suspension on a E92 328/335 is not adjustable.

No when you have the alignment/tracking done. It needs to know what settings to use to correct toe, camber e.t.c. So you pick the model on the tracking machine screen. It gives you a list of models to choose from with the correct settings.

Standard suspension, which is the non-sports suspension. I believe that applies to X drive too and then there is the sports suspension, for cars with sports (zsp) and m sports package. |

That's what I thought. They wanted to run it with standard suspension settings but I have an MSport model. I suppose it's not obvious to everyone but I figured they would get it from the reg.

In the UK, SE and Msport suspension is different. Delta is in the US, so may be different over there.
in the UK, the Msport's get different springs and dampers. however, the alignment figures are the same. only the M3 gets different (more aggressive) alignment settings. |

When I got my Bilstein B12 kit fitted the spanner monkey showed me the different settings on the Hunter alignment screen. For my E91 there were 3 options for suspension settings, SE, M-Sport and something else I can't remember. The screen also showed the current alignment values. The current settings were in-between the M-Sport and the 'something else' category so they aligned it to the M-Sport settings.

I have a 325i. Definitely MSport suspension. I have always seen the print outs specifying sport suspension before so I thought it a bit odd it said standard. As I had just put on £270 of PSS rubber on, I didn't want to risk avoidable wear.

Toe settings are the same on all the models by the looks of it. Rear camber is the main one that seems to differ. |

I had alignment done on my m-sport e90 and options on hunter screen were: se standard suspension, m-sport and performance bmw suspension. I went for m-sport on my e90 lowered with eibachs sportlines
