Pic request... 9.5" rears, et27 on an e90

bonjourno...

i know loads of you have wheels with this spec, so im wondering who has decent photos of how they sit? particularly with the 265/30 tyre option? and more particularly how they are in relation to arch lip.

you'll need to specify LCI or Pre LCI as well!

I haven't bought the ones your on about mate, but I'm eying up a set of freshly refurbed e46 m3 wheels locally.

Anyone seen a set on an e90?

*note to self, more informative posts needed*

Yes mate 19's.

As I said above, specifically e46 m3 19" wheels.

The plan would be 8" wide on front, 12mm spacer bringing offset down to 35, 225/40 tyres.

9.5" wide on rear, leave original et27, and eventually make the decision between 255/35 or 263/30 tyres.

I suspect that ET27 and 9.5" on an LCI might be a bit "pokey".

If they're 19's the standard E90 size would be 225/35 and 255/30 i would have thaught? 40 profile fronts would be too large in 19", thats what 18's use.

How much wider do the LCI rears run then? Wouldn't have thought there was much difference, what causes the difference in width?

My problem with 225/35's is that you lose rolling radius when moving from 18's to 19's, wheels get bigger but overall diameter gets slightly smaller, and I need all the height at the front I can get, building sites aren't kind to lower cars, would mean I'd get away with a 15-20mm drop and lose the arch gap without the bumper sitting much lower than standard.

Not that I've thought about it much though you understand!

I think you've done the calculations incorrectly... 225/35r19 is 3mm larger overall than a 225/40r18!

You could also do 235/35r19 which would give you an additional 7mm of diameter.

LCI cars have the equivalent of around 8mm of spacer built into the suspension hub.

So ET27 on an LCI car would be like ET19 on a pre-LCI car.

Hah... Well this has just been 1 massive fail.

Back to the drawing board either way.

Need to stick with an approximate et of 34-35 for a 9.5" wheel on the back of an LCI then?

Any idea what this additional 8mm or so is for? Purely to give a more aggressive stance from the back? Seems like a strange change to make during a facelift.

Purely for wider track, more stability, slightly softens suspension due to leverage, and looks.

Please run a square set of rears. E46 M3 front wheels look horrendous.

I bought scaramangas E46 M3 wheels to use as my winters..

Mines Pre-Lci and i'll be using 20mm spacers up front final E.T27 on a 235/35 and no rear spacer so same final rear E.T27 but its a 9.5J rim and there fitted with 265/30 tyres.

My current set up is 19" x 9J front final E.T 23 with 235/35 tyre and rear 19" x 10J final E.T 18 with 255/35 tyres..

I've started refurbing the alloys, even thou there winter wheels i want to give them a tidy up; remove kerb marks ( my pet hate ) & re lacquer them..

Once fitted I'll decide on final specs/E.T's

Im not running any negative rear camber as far as im aware so it will be interesting to see how the rears sit compared to my current setup.

If im happy with the look ( and i can sell my 18" 189 design alloys ) i currently have 3 sets of wheels, not gud....im going to look for two rears and go for a square setup but the fronts will be on 235/35's...
