Diesel Prices Above Gas Again...Coincidence?

Noticed that the price of diesel in my area is up $.10 or more over gasoline now. Diesel was $.10-$.25 cheaper than gas here a week ago. It seems to be happening at the same time as the VW issue. Maybe just a coincidence, or could petroleum companies be forecasting a decrease in diesel fuel sales? Anyone else notice a price increase?

Diesel goes up in winter due to completion with home heating oil refining. Seems a bit early though. Refiners due try to build up inventory before real winter comes. I live close to refineries since I live in the arm pit of the gulf coast. I'm hearing refinery turnarounds are going. So, lower supplies might be culprit too. Diesel still about 2.10 to 2.20 here though

Diesel is always more expensive in the south east. But it is still worth it.

Diesel is always higher in GA

The price of diesel is always higher than gasoline in Georgia. I'd guess it is probably both state tax related and supply/demand coming into play. This data is for the Atlanta market. But then again, I paid $2.36 for diesel yesterday, which is less than this AAA data shows. At any rate, i do not believe the VW fiasco has anything to do with the price of fuel.

Regular Midgrade Premium Diesel

Current $2.199 $2.494 $2.728 $2.558

Month Ago $2.405 $2.700 $2.930 $2.654

Week Ago $2.199 $2.507 $2.743 $2.564

Year Ago $3.375 $3.564 $3.740 $3.754

Yesterday $2.200 $2.496 $2.732 $2.558

Good info. Many companies out here have stacked a lot of rigs.
