Would you put an engine block in your trunk?

Need to haul a block from a civic, roughly 200 lbs. Do you think the thin black metal sheet over the tank is strong enough? I'm not so sure...

Gracias!

My take is your trunk can handle 200 lbs of luggage. The key is to distribute the load out to the structure and not have it all on that plate only. What about cutting 2x8s and laying them down across the trunk floor. Then perhaps a piece of plywood on top.
I never have to deal with things like this as I have a full size truck

I wouldn't hesitate to put my mother-in-law in the trunk and she weighs at least as much as an engine block.

civic block, sure. With the exception of construction materials, I have the flat rate box mentality for my trunk. If it fits it ships!

make some attempt to strap it down, or jam it in place so it can't move. If you end up having to slam on the brakes or get cut off, it will rearrange itself back there...

Thanks for the input (and laughs). Cuda got me thinking about getting some wood scraps and i remembered I'd be driving past a buddy's house currently under renovation. I stopped by and hit pay-dirt. He had some huge piece of Styrofoam that fit like a glove. Worked perfectly...
