BMW shipping routes to UK

Hi Folks,

My car is currently being built and I expect the production date to pop up on the VIN any day now! Once it hits 9000 i'll be looking to try and guess/track the ship that it's on.

I know the normal route is Bremerhaven - Southampton but I heard that cars ordered by Northern dealers (mine is) go from Cuxhaven - Immingham. Can anyone confirm this? I hope mine is that way round as the sailing is shorter and more regular than the other one!

Cheers

Sorry mate yes seen that however I read that some cars go to Immingham rather than Southampton especially for ones through northern dealerships? Was yours a Southern or Nothern dealer?

Cheers

Ah cool

Mine is Southern however, I thought it had all switched to Southampton now - I could be wrong as it would make sense for Northern cars to continue going into Immingham as you say

It's strange, as mine landed UK side (Southampton) yesterday morning and oils only have been on the Integrity.

So I think it could be any Wilenius Wilmheusen ship from Bremerhaven or Cuxhaven that is RoRo or Vehicle Carrier, which makes it slightly harder to track.

From reports in the Munich Press.

http://www.sueddeutsche.de

It looks like Munich / Germany is looking at sorting out its car delivery side of things and its refugees.

They plan to offer Syrian drivers jobs as BMW / Mercedes delivery drivers to the UK.

This helps reduce costs of delivery and shifts refugees to the UK..

Hahaha - will have to check my car thoroughly before I take delivery

Are there any BMW employees on here btw? Trying to get a status update on my car now the VIN has a date next to it but it's annoying chasing the lease co or having to contact BMW customer services everytime! Need someone I can just ping when I need an update Not that i'm impatient or anything!!

Woohoo just heard from BMW - am at status 5400 as of today (22/09/2015) which would make sense as the VIN got the production date today. Anyone got any experiences of how long it takes from here to depart plant (9000)?? I'm scheduled for another update tomorrow so hoping it will have moved by then!

Cheers
